Bringing people joy with mermaids.
I was raised on Sanibel Is., Fl. I have been working in clay for almost 24 years now.
My love for clay literally came by accident. During my senior year in High school I was in a
fatal car accident, while I was blessed to come back to this amazing planet it would be with out the use of my hands for quite some time.
Clay became my therapy in order to regain the use of my hands. Even though I still lack feeling today in my right hand, the clay has allowed me to over come any difficulties that used to disturb me.
I LOVE working with Mother Earth and give thanks for having the oppertunity to work with her and create the magical sirens of the sea.
All in all clay has been one of the greatest unexpected gifts to me.
The Mermaids are a joy to make, they make me smile and from time to time I hear a bit of giggling going on.
My inspiration comes from the sea and my life experiences.
Come back often as I will be adding more items, like, Mermaid hooks, 3D Mermaid sculptures, Mermen, Merboys, Merangels and MerFamilies!
As you will notice, none of my Mermaids have faces, that way your imagination will fill in the blanks.
All are 100% handmade by me, from each individual scale to each strand of hair placed by hand, there are no molds and all are one of a kind.
